Women’s Community Ally Network
Women’s Health Queensland is running an ally network program to support regional rural and remote women living with current or historical violence. The Women’s Community Ally Network (W-CAN) aims to upskill and support community leaders to influence meaningful change on the ground, through community education, advocacy, peer support and information and referrals to women affected by domestic violence in their own communities.
The program is currently being set up in two pilot sites, Toowomba and Mt Isa. Community organisations, local community members, businesses, local government, police, schools and healthcare providers will be amongst the stakeholders invited to participate.
If you would like to learn more about the program and how to get involved please email Melissa (Community Engagement and Education) firstname.lastname@example.org
